Saudi Arabia Explores Equity and Tradition Through “Good Water” at London Design Biennale
Presented by the Architecture and Design Commission under Sumayah Al-Solaiman, Saudi Arabia’s National Pavilion, “Good Water,” reimagines the traditional sabeel as a lens to examine water access, equity, and unseen systems of labor. Co-curated by Alaa Tarabzouni, Dur Kattan, Fahad bin Naif, and Aziz Jamal, the installation invites global audiences to reflect on generosity, scarcity, and sustainability—offering not just refreshment, but deep cultural dialogue at the heart of Somerset House.
Visitors can sip from paper cups labeled “500ml = one AI prompt”, explore video narratives from a Riyadh water factory, and connect in a true “water-cooler moment.”
